سابق کپتان اپنے 16 سالہ کرکٹ کیریئر میں آئی سی سی ٹی ٹونٹی کرکٹ رینکنگ میں پہلے ، ٹیسٹ میں چھٹے اور ایک روزہ رینکنگ میں ساتویں بہترین بیٹسمین رہ چکے، آئی سی سی ٹی ٹونٹی کرکٹ ورلڈکپ 2009 کی فاتح قومی ٹیم کے ساتھ ساتھ آئی سی سی ایک روزہ کرکٹ ورلڈکپ 2011 میں سیمی فائنل اور ورلڈکپ 2015 میں کوارٹرفائنل میں پاکستان کرکٹ ٹیم کی نمائندگی کرچکے،،
مصباح آئی سی سی ٹیسٹ کرکٹ رینکنگ میں چھٹے بہترین بیٹسمین رہے،آئی سی سی ایک روزہ کرکٹ رینکنگ میں ساتویں بہترین بیٹسمین رہے،آئی سی سی ٹی ٹونٹی رینکنگ میں پہلے بہترین بیٹسمین رہے، مصباح ٹیسٹ کرکٹ میں تیز ترین نصف سنچری بنانے والے کرکٹر ہیں،وہ ٹیسٹ کرکٹ میں تین مرتبہ 99 اسکور کرنے والے کرکٹر بھی ہیں،مصباح ایک روزہ کرکٹ میں سنچری بنائے بغیر 5122رنز بنانے والے کرکٹر ہیں،2009 ورلڈکپ کی فاتح قومی کرکٹ ٹیم کا حصہ رہے،آئی سی سی کرکٹ ورلڈکپس 2011 اور 2015 میں پاکستان کی نمائندگی کرچکے۔مصباح سب سے زیادہ 56 ٹیسٹ میچوں میں قومی کرکٹ ٹیم کی کپتانی کر چکے جبکہ ویسٹ انڈیز میں ٹیسٹ سیریز جیتنے والے واحد پاکستانی کپتان ہیں۔مصباح پاکستان کی جانب سے سب سے زیادہ 26 ٹیسٹ میچ جیتنے والے کپتان ہیں ،انکی کپتانی میںآئی سی سی ٹیسٹ چیمپئن شپ 2016 میں قومی کرکٹ ٹیم رینکنگ میں پہلے نمبر پر رہی۔
انہوں نے بطور کپتان 8 میں سے 6 ٹی ٹونٹی میچ جیتے،بطور کپتان 87 ایک روزہ میچوں میں سے 45 میں کامیابی حاصل کی،2016 میں آئی سی سی سپرٹ آف کرکٹ ایوارڈ جیتا،بطور کپتان اسلام آبادیونائیٹڈ کو پہلی ایچ بی ایل پی ایس ایل میں فاتح بنایا۔
